If money was not an issue, and you were guaranteed success, what would you attempt for God? What would you try that you have never tried before? What would you begin believing that you have never believed before? What would you seriously start dreaming about that you have been afraid to dream about before?

The biggest waste of time is the waste of time getting started.

WHY NOT NOW?
WHY NOT YOU?
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Some Christians tell the Lord that they are not gifted enough to make a real difference.  God has gifted every true child of his. All he wants is for you to invest the “five loaves and two fishes” he has given you (as did that little boy with his lunch, John 6:9) and leave the rest to him.

Don’t worry about your lack of anything. God is big enough to fill in the gaps and use you beyond your wildest dreams. The Bible is full of stories of God taking ordinary people and doing extraordinary things.  Join the tribe and be amazed at what He does. Step out and step up and watch what happens.

You have potential excuses as do I. Here are a few that I’ve heard:

  • I’m too old
  • I’m too young
  • I’m too tired
  • I’m too sick
  • I’m too incompetent
  • I’m too overwhelmed
  • I’m too afraid

I refer to these as the terrible toos–not the terrible twos .

I’m too _________; fill in the blank.

Many potential leaders today have gone AWOL (absent without leave.) They’re nowhere to be found while Jesus’ church is in desperate need for a new generation of visionary leaders (Matthew 9:36-38).

 WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Many years ago I attended a conference where the speaker camped for a few minutes on Isaiah 6:8 and challenged us.

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’” Then I said, “Here I am, send me.”

I wrote in my Bible right then that I was willing to go anywhere and do anything he wanted me to do. That commitment has taken me literally all over the world and I continue doing things that a man my age generally doesn’t do. I have no intention of slowing down, no intention of retiring, no intention of throwing out excuses that would keep me from staying engaged in the game.  I don’t consider myself exceptionally gifted, but I am totally available.

The greatest ability is availability.

How about you?

What are you waiting for?

Consider this your wake-up call.

“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

~Ephesians 5:14 (ESV)

In the power of the Holy Spirit and in complete dependence on him, throw out your net, step out of the comfortable and safe boat, take that unfamiliar path into new territory.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the things you did do; so throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover” ~Mark Twain

All for the honor and glory of Jesus Christ!
