I readily give John Maxwell credit for the title of this blog. I believe it with all my heart. The day of the Lone Ranger doing the job all By himself is over. The independent-wip-the-town-into-shape-by-yourself reputation of Clint Eastwood and John Wayne is familiar to us all.
Leaders are dreamers. When you stop dreaming you stop leading. Every Christian leader I have ever worked with or read about has God-size dreams given to them by the Lord. I’is one of his/her major responsibility to infect others with this dream.
I love Genesis 37:19, 20, “They said to one another, here comes this dreamer. Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits…and we will see what will become of his dreams.”
What has become of your dreams? Are you, by His grace, continuing to pursue them, believing they can happen; or have you given up?
I would be okay if my grave stone were inscribed with, “Here lies Dave Kraft. He was an incurable dreamer.” When I am given a new responsibility, the first thing that comes to mind is who can I get to join me in this so it turns out much better than if I had done it all by myself?
At 80 years of age I still have God-given dreams I ‘m pursuing. I have no intention of spending my time sitting in a recliner in front of the TV letting the years I have left slip away.
I heard a few years ago that TEAM means, Together Each Accomplishes More. Keep dreaming and believing that dreams come true, but don’t journey down the dream road by yourself. Tap into the gifts of others as you rally them to the better future you envision. The end result will be much better.
