Could they not bear it because of sin or immaturity?
Jesus, I don’t want to miss a thing of all you want to teach/show me. By your grace, remove anything from my life that is keeping me from all you have in mind for me.
I am reminded of the song we use to sing at Our Savior’s in Palm Springs, California:
“Search my heart, look deep within my soul, see if there be anything at all that might keep me from hearing you, keep me from knowing you, keep me from loving you, dear lord!”

It is based on Psalm 139:23 & 24, NLT
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and led me along the path of everlasting life.”
Jesus, it is the ongoing prayer of my life, and the desire of my heart, to understand, confess and repent of anything that would offend you and disqualify me (1 Corinthians 9:27).
It is not perfection I am after, but honesty and progress in Christlikeness. Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you can and will do this in my life.
