If a leader…
Leads through control instead of collaboration
Always has to be right and seldom/never admits to being wrong
Uses anger as his primary means of getting results
Does most of the talking and very little of the listening
Always has to have all the answers and provide all the solutions
Always gets what he wants regardless of the price others pay
Feels threatened by those who are better at something than he/she is
Has to have an opinion on every subject and issue
Then these leaders may not really be leaders at all!
They might have the biggest office
They might have the fanciest title on their business card
They might have the greatest power
They might make the most money
They might be in the market place or in the church
They might hold the top position of boss, supervisor or manager
But they are not the kind of leaders Jesus is looking for
“The greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” Matthew 23:11,12
