Leaders develop an empowering environment on their teams & in their organizations so that people can grow, flourish and lead.

That’s what leaders are tasked to do!

Great leaders:

1. Paint a picture of a compelling future that allows others to see what could be accomplished.

2. Equip their team members by giving them tools, resources and training to fulfill their responsibilities.

3. Release their team members by letting go of the tendency to micro manage so that others can learn how to lead.

If you are a doer but not an enabler then you are not the leader you should be. You may actually be an obstacle to what your team could accomplish if you got out of the way.

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” ~ Ephesians 4:11,12 (ESV)

When the leader opens the door for others to lead by painting a picture of a preferred future & equipping / releasing team members, the organization and the people in the organization increase their capacity to grow.

Are you functioning as a doer or enabler?

Are you truly leading or are you actually in the way?
