I’ve loved music as far back as I can remember. My iphone is filled with songs, both Christian and secular. In my journey with Jesus, worship songs have enabled me to love Him with my all heart as well as my mind. I love all kinds of Christian music; some of the classics that go back a 100 years or more as well as those which are currently being created and sung each Sunday in worship settings all over the country and all over the world.

Recently a good friend, Mike Coppersmith, who lives in Texas sent me a worship song.  I’ve known Mike for 36 years and work with him at Our Savior’s Community Church in Palm Springs, CA. for 13 years. It isn’t the first worship song he has passed along to me, but I must say it is the most impactful one I’ve received from Mike. I have learned to play it on my piano and worship to it several times a day. It often brings tears of joy and gratitude to my heart and soul.

You can find it on Spotify or on U-Tube. The song is performed by City Alight, a music ministry from St. Paul’s church in Sydney, Australia.

I received it during some dark days as I was facing serious medical challenges and major surgery during July and August of this year.

Below are the lyrics. So many different words and biblical truths deeply ministered (and continue) to me. It’s a song incredibly rich in theological truths which give perspective and hope.To any Christian wanting to experience intimacy with Jesus when faced with problems, difficulties and questions with seemingly no clear and satisfying answers, this song is for YOU!

Here a a few of my thoughts from the song:

Though I fall, His love is sure– I will fall. I will fail, but He will never leave me nor forsake me

Darkness not yet understood–I. will encounter darkness and dark days, I will not understand at the moment. But at some point, by His grace and in His timing, He can make things clear. It may be here on earth, or it may be in heaven. The timing is His and I will trust His good hand on my life even when things are dark.

I know my pain will not be wasted–God will use my pain, problems, difficulties for my good and His overarching purpose

For His love is my reward.–His love for me and through me is my greatest reward/satisfaction in my life

For there my heart has found it’s treasure–In Jesus, and Jesus alone, is my true treasure. It’s not in acclaim or popularity, or money or success however I  may define success. “On Christ the solid rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand.”

“Christ Is Mine Forevermore”

Mine are days that God has numbered
I was made to walk with Him
Yet I look for worldly treasure
And forsake the King of kings

But mine is hope in my Redeemer
Though I fall, His love is sure
For Christ has paid for every failing
I am His forevermore

Mine are tears in times of sorrow
Darkness not yet understood
Through the valley I must travel
Where I see no earthly good

But mine is peace that flows from Heaven
And the strength in times of need
I know my pain will not be wasted
Christ completes his work in me

Mine are days here as a stranger
Pilgrim on a narrow way
One with Christ I will encounter
Harm and hatred for His name

But mine is armor for this battle
Strong enough to last the war
And He has said He will deliver
Safely to the golden shore

And mine are keys to Zion city
Where beside the King I walk
For there my heart has found its treasure
Christ is mine forevermore

Come rejoice now, O my soul
For His love is my reward
Fear is gone and hope is sure
Christ is mine forevermore

May I encourage you to take a few minutes to listen/watch this worship song as you prayerfully let it’s message sink into your heart and soul?
